Rock's up, rockers?
Hey, for Memorial day don't forget to remember that there's a memorable show coming up the day after the memorial. Here's the double super block rockin' oh my god details:
Tuesday May 29th at The Medicine Hall
Corner of Lindsey and Jenkins
(next to Sooner Textbook)First up... Art showing from 5pm to 9pm. Here's the decscription sent to me by the promoters:
"fancy art show with huge sculptures of half women half ducks and lots of clay birds and real grass and nice paintings of pregnant women of the future, along with more pottery and photographs of teen angst agers"
After the art will be a variety of performers. DJ Moody, Screwball Science, and The Ills (members of conjunto clave) cycle through from 9pm to around 10:30. After that... we'll hit the stage for around an hour, ripping off a string of legendary :40 of Hell golden country smash hits.
Headlining the evening will be The Anticon All Stars at around midnight on their "Anticonquistador's New World Tour". Anticon is a really nifty underground abstract hip-hop band out of San Francisco, and they have a great web site you can check out at http://www.anticon.com. Nice pictures, mp3's, the whole rockin' shebang.
Cost at the door is $5 before 9pm and $7 after, so come out early if you can.
